These new sets are based around the Imperial Court of the last Dowager Empress Ci-Xi, who ruled the 'Middle Kingdom' from 1865 to 1904. The Dowager Empress presided over some of the most tumultuous events in Chinese history, probably the most famous was the Boxer Rebellion of 1900.
